| | | Philippines: LS Cable wins KRW 2.50tn contract to set up subway payment system | |

The Korea Herald, 23 Feb 2010, online:-
South Korea-based electric wire and cable manufacturer LS Cable has been awarded a contract by the Philippines' Department of Transportation and Communications to oversee the integration of a subway payment system in the Philippines. Under the contract, which paves the way for the South Korean company to expand outside cable manufacturing, LS Cable will be responsible for the setting up of different subway payment methods in Manila into an integrated system, as well as operate and transfer the system. The contract, which will begin in spring 2010, is for a term of one year and it is valued at KRW 2.50bn (EUR 1.60mn USD 2.18mn).
